Leia Solo: Super Sex Goddess (Guest Post by Han Solo)

Push and I are thrilled to welcome Han Solo himself as a contributor. He contacted us and first told us that he appreciates the kind words, but that he thinks it's only fair that Leia gets equal time here. So enjoy this post from Han Solo!

All right, since everyone out there seems to love talking about me (and I don’t mind, really) I think it’s only fair that I explain what makes Leia such a super sex goddess. And all around incredible woman. So I decided to contact these people and see if I could post to parallel Leia's and they didn't seem to have a problem with it. I mean, maybe I don’t even have to write a list and you can just look at that holo up there. I know I’m going to get in trouble for showing it, but I took it on our fifth wedding anniversary. As you can imagine, we spent a lot of time in the bedroom, and she had gotten out of bed just to look out the window and was feeling a little chilly so she took the sheet with her. I told her how adorable she looked and then I made her laugh and took that holo. I just love seeing her look so happy and I also remember vividly what we did right after that. Definitely a very good memory. Anyway, I think it’s safe to share this list here because I don’t have to worry about any men getting the wrong idea, as it seems to be only you ladies. This is either going to get me into a lot of trouble or it is going to earn me major points in the sweet and charming category. I’m hoping for that second one, because there are rewards involved, and they don’t have anything to do with money.

1. Her smile. Yeah, I know you’d expect me to start off with somethin’ else, but gods, I love it when that woman smiles. Maybe it’s because it was so rare for me to see when I first met her, but I love making her smile and I practically melt when I see it. It lights up a room.

2. I’m her one and only. Yeah, I know it’s a double standard but that’s just the way it goes. And I think if I had attempted to hold out for her I might’ve actually died before I even met her. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got no problem being with her and only her for the rest of my life and there is never any need to think of anyone else. But what can I say, I’m territorial like that. I love that I’m the only one she ever has (and ever will) get naked between the sheets with. I’m the only one who gets to see that intimate side of her. And I love making sure there is no reason for her to wonder what it would be like with anyone else. (I’ll answer that one, sweetheart: it would never be anywhere near as good!)

3. Those dark brown eyes. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but if she just looks at me the right way she can probably get me to do whatever she wants. You can get lost in those eyes.

4. She’s adventurous, in more ways than one. This is a woman who took charge of her own rescue, runs head-on into the face of danger and strangles her giant, slimy captor with the very chain he used to enslave her. But she’s also not one to shy away from trying some new, inventive things with her husband. But you are not allowed to know what those things are. But to give you a hint, we are usually naked when we try them.

5. Her body. I may have to go into specifics further down the list, but good gods does that woman have an amazing body. So small but so strong. She’s strong enough to push back and take care of herself when she needs to, but she’s small enough that I can carry her around or hold her up in various positions when needed.

6. She’s got the softest skin I’ve ever felt. I’d probably still want to anyway, but when we’re lying in bed, even if we’re just going to sleep I can’t help running my hands against her, just to feel that skin. It feels even better on my lips.

7. She’s incredible with a blaster. I mean that in more ways than one.

8. She’s quite flexible. I don’t think she’d like me to elaborate here.

9. She’s almost always just as eager as I am. She plays it a little reluctant sometimes, but it usually doesn’t take her much convincing to come to bed with me. Even better when she initiates

10. She’s very… responsive. I don’t really know how to say that tastefully without her getting mad at me. Let’s just say that it’s pretty easy to tell when she’s enjoying herself. And that it’s not easy when we have to stay anywhere with neighbors and very thin walls.

11. She’s gorgeous. It’s impossible for me not to get turned on the second she comes in the room.

12. Her lips. I never thought I could be happy just kissing someone, but she’s got great lips. I’m glad though that it usually leads to something else, because those lips are good for more than just kissing.

13. In that same arena, her tongue. Oh, gods does she know how to use that. I’m sure she thinks the same thing about me.

14. As long as we’re on body parts, this list would not be complete without mentioning her boo… well, uh, breasts. Is it okay to say it if that’s what I call ‘em? It’s amazing that I’m able to keep my hands to myself in public. Even more amazing that I ever let her wear a top when we’re alone. I think they have hypnotic powers. And if anyone has sensitive nipples…

15. It’s always the conservative princesses that are going to get wild once they finally let themselves go. At least that’s been my experience in this case.

16. She may have been inexperienced before me, but she is quick and eager to learn and now she definitely has no trouble knowing how to get me going.

17. The gold bikini. And some other outfits over the years. Being blind the first time she was wearing that thing was like some cruel joke. I can’t even begin to tell you what was going through my mind when she surprised me by showing that she had saved it. Of course while I loved looking at her in it I couldn’t get it off her fast enough. She has some other special outfits she wears for me on occasion, too. I know you women don’t get us guys’ need to see you in sexy outfits when all we really want is to get you naked, but you’re just gonna have to trust me when I say that this is one of the hottest things my wife does for me.

18. She made me a dad. If you ever told me when I was younger that I’d actually desperately want to have kids, I’d have laughed until my stomach hurt. I never thought I’d want a kid until I found someone I wanted to have one with. It’s amazing to look at her little body and know that she carried my children, especially since she still looks so incredible. I don’t think I ever felt like such a man as when I found out my wife was carrying our child. And seeing her as a mom somehow made me love he even more.

19. The sound of her voice. Yeah, you talk about me on this one, but every once in a while she’ll get real close and say something sexy right into my ear with that husky voice of hers and I can’t get her to bed fast enough. Even better when she says some, um, encouraging words under certain circumstances. I have to stop thinking about it right now or I’m gonna get myself into trouble.

20. Those hands. They may not be all “work-roughened” like mine are (and I’m glad for that) but she can do some incredible things with those small hands of hers. I never thought I’d get turned on watching a woman pilot my ship (I don’t let her do it often, but she’s great at it when she does) and the way she can take out an enemy with her bare hands. The way she fires a blaster (get your mind outta the gutter, I’m talking about an actual blaster, here) like when she took out that stormtrooper by the shield generator. And then she can still be so gentle, like when she massages my shoulders or runs her fingers all over me, it’s like I died and went to heaven.

21. As long as we’re back to body parts, she might get mad at me for this, but gods I love that ass. She may never let me see or touch it again though for saying that.

22. When she wears white. She still does this kind of a lot and it turns me on like you wouldn’t believe. Usually I can’t wait to get her home (or into some dark, mostly-hidden place) and prove just how un-virginal she is now.

23. Yeah, sweetheart, my list has more than yours now. Her heart. I’m getting a little sappy here, but it never ceases to amaze me what an amazing heart she has, in every aspect. So compassionate (and passionate, for sure.) She gives so much of herself in everything she does and it makes me feel incredibly lucky that a big part of that heart is just for me and it’s never hard to see how much she really loves me. She says she loves me all the time, but she shows it so much that I don’t need to hear it in order to know. Honestly, I never really got why they called it “making love” until I met her and I never knew there was this whole other connection I could have with someone. I don’t deserve having this woman love me so much, but I at least like to try and show her she didn’t make a huge mistake.

I could go on all day but I think I’ll stop there. I just know for an infinite number of reasons Leia is the best thing that ever happened to me. Followed of course by our kids. And hopefully she understands that I wasn’t tryin’ to embarrass her with this list, I just thought it was only fair that people knew just a few of the things that make her so amazing.

Thank you again to Han Solo, we do appreciate blog contributions from guest posters, especially from the very ones we are writing about. And hopefully your wife also appreciates this list!

  1. Awww...that was really cute. I'm impressed that he talked about way more than just her boobs. Very nicely done. I might have expected at least a second mention of said body part, but I think it's because I've been married for a long time or have watched too much "How I Met Your Mother". The follower's quote is very timely with the post.

And on the topic of background pictures, I like today's. I know he just kisses her on the forehead in that scene, but he looks like he's ready to lay one on her. The post pic is incredible.

  2. I love these guest blogs!! This one really cheered me up after an awful day at work that I never thought would end.

This was actually really sweet. I love Han's softer side, and there's plenty of it on show here. Yes, he loves her boobs (and ass) but he also proves his love for her goes far far deeper than that. I just wanted to give him a hug and go Awww!!

Trust Han to have a seemingly photographic memory of all their more intimate moments.

You know these 2 guest blogs make it sound like Han and Leia are at it like bunnies - but hey, I am not complaining!! We all picture them like that, don't we?

Hmm, so Leia kept the gold bikini? You know since reading that it's been bugging me that I have a vague recollection that she mentions keeping it in one of the novels - does she mention it somewhere, or did I totally imagine that? I know it's mentioned in the ROTJ radio drama, but that's not what I'm thinking of.

  3. I love the cocky little bits like "I’m sure she thinks the same thing about me." But this post really makes me want a guy like Han, more than I already do. Because seriously this guy is amazing and I'm freakin' jealous. I want my Han Solo :(

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'm sure Han loves Leia's boobs, but I'm also sure he loves other stuff about her, too!

I want one, too, MajorTrouble! Push has assured me he does not exist.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well, THE perfect guy doesn't exist. YOUR perfect guy is out there somewhere... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  6. He most certainly proved that with the post, Zyra. =)

Gotta agree with Push too. Your perfect guy is out there. Have fun in the meantime. Let it happen and it will.

    ReplyDelete
  7. And Claire1976, hmmmmm. U make me wonder about that and something does sound familiar about her still having the bikini. Zyra? U remember everything. Anywhere in the EU allude to the bikini?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I know he said something in the radio drama, but I don't recall other references to it. Not positive, though. I tried Wookieepedia but it does not give a complete list of appearances and mentions of the infamous outfit. Although apparently in Planet of the Twilight Leia has a dream or a vision where she's wearing it. I also discovered there is at least one web site devoted to said bikini, and fortunately, it is not an R-rated web site so it did not require scrubbing my eyeballs.

Perfect guy is probably not going to find me while I spend Friday nights at home commenting on my own Star Wars blog...

    1. there is mention in the black fleet crisis trilogy (not sure which book) that she needs to boost her public image. she suggests (rather sarcastically) that she could always video herself dancing around for Han in a slave-girl outfit. thats the only mention of it i can think of.

      Delete
    2. How do I not remember that? I may need to investigate...

      Delete
  9. Don't worry Zyra, it might not be MY blog, but I'm in the same situation so yeah... I understand that. Naturally any of the guys I like/have liked... like/date someone else.

So anyway. Am I the only one who didn't expect Han to talk completely about boobs?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well, you gotta remember that Han only found this blog because of Leia and it sounds like he wrote this post specifically for her to find and feel good about it. Soooo, instead of writing all about her boobs, he wrote about other nice things and now while we are all reading this blog...Han is playing with Leia's boobies...

    ReplyDelete
  11. I knew he wouldn't talk about only boobs ;)

You're in high school, right? I can almost guarantee you won't regret not dating teenage boys. Have fun with your friends and do your own thing and don't worry about it. It was much more fun to sit back and watch other people go through these huge dramas because of their so-called "relationships" while I sat back and didn't have to worry about it. I bet Han would've made a lousy boyfriend when he was 17.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nice one, Push. Of course, I forgot this is Han we're talking about and not just your average male.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh my god, that was seriously funny! Number 7 had me cracking up, of course. I need to get my mind out of the gutter.

I want a Han Solo, too! The biggest problem with being a Han/Leia fan is that I don't want to date anyone because they don't seem as perfect as him. Oh well, Zyra, I totally agree with you. It is way more fun watching my friends have dramatic "serious" relationships than trying to do it myself.

Hmm, she keeps the gold bikini? I always thought she would get rid of it pretty quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah you are not missing a lot by not dating teenage boys, they still have a load of growing up to do, believe me. And as Zyra pointed out, even Han would be a nightmare at 17.

Push, glad it isn't just me that thinks theres a bikini reference somewhere in the EU. I didn't know it had its own Wookiepedia page.

Don't remember the Planet of Twilight thing, but that book is like a complete blur to me. Oh except for that "white stohl fur rug"......LOL !!

    ReplyDelete
  15. The Wookiepedia page was interesting. Discussed how they had to cast it to her body and that they should ask the guy playing Boba Fett about being able to see all the way to Florida (if you get the meaning). That would be some lingerie to have laying around if Leia kept it.

  16. Claire, I remember precisely two things from that book: One, that Leia was being held prisoner in what seemed to be a five-star hotel or something. Han usually gets thrown in a dank cell with nothing in it and beaten within an inch of his life, and Leia had a palacial bedroom. I may be remembering that wrong, but I seem to recall that. And two, of course, the reference to the white rug!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I even remember the page number of the white rug reference. Yes, I know, that's really sad isn't it!

Now you mention it, leia being held in a 5 star prison does sound familiar!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'd actually like to know the page number. =)

  19. Nice post. Oh, I feel like the old lady in the house. Some of you are not much older than my oldest daughter. I keep reassuring her that her perfect match is out there and when the stars are aligned you two will meet. Hopefully it won’t be in a dramatic rescue from a space station, but hey you never know. In the meantime, take the time to explore all the things that you are passionate about, writing, dance, music, sports, blogging, etc. Whatever it is that gets you excited to wake up in the morning. Your Mr. Solo (or in my daughter’s case, Mr. Skywalker) is out there somewhere, wondering if he is ever going to meet the girl of his dreams. I used to carry Han’s picture around in my wallet until I was in my twenties. Then the stars aligned and I met and married my Han twenty something years ago. Though I do wish I kept that trading card picture. Man, when the hell did I get old?

amara z : I believe the page number is 112 in the paperback. Yeah, sad I know that as well.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Seams2Be, were you here when we had our poll asking for ages? We have a very wide range of ages here and the older fans are well represented, so don't feel too bad! I'm sure as a mother you're probably relieved your daughter wants a Skywalker instead of a Solo ;) Love that you kept a picture of Han in your wallet. I still have these action figures of Han and Leia, in the same box, in the outfits of the current background picture. I've had them since probably the mid 90's and doubt I'll ever get rid of them.

    ReplyDelete
  21. While I know what you mean about teenage boys (obviously I know many) there is this one kid, Joe, I've known since elementary school. He's class president and JROTC unit commander, and he's just this wicked nice, sweet, fun, all-around awesome kid with a great sense of humor that I've liked since sophomore year. He always knows what to say to make you feel better about whatever it might be that's bothering you, too, and he's a great speaker and leader so I see why he got both of his positions.

I still remember the time in sixth grade when he told me he liked me but I didn't believe him and to this day don't know if he was telling the truth; but I feel like maybe he was, because even in sixth grade he never seemed like the kind of kid who would say that if it wasn't true. And it doesn't hurt that he's 6'3", of course.

I'm throwing in this little story because it's semi-SW related. After a unit meeting one day I changed out of my JROTC uniform and put on some regular pants and my Boba Fett sweatshirt. I walked toward the office, I don't remember why, and he came out and stopped to stare at my sweatshirt. He was practically speechless and reached out to pull the hood up because he was so excited about it. Just a random little story, but his reaction when he saw that and when I tell him something like how I was going to bring in homemade candies for the Command Staff is pretty amusing.

He's a wicked sweet boyfriend... for one of my friends.

Okay, so back to Han/Leia/Star Wars

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, it is page 112 in the paperback!!!

Wow, there are actually others as obsessed as me. I guess in a way that's kind of comforting.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Zyra: I wasn't that tech savvy yet to figure out the "polls" at that time. Glad to know that we "middle-age" fans are still alive and kicking. Never, Never, ever get rid of any of your Star Wars things. I kick myself constantly for being a fool and getting rid of all my Star Wars stuff (books, comics, dolls, trading cards, even a 8x10 of Harrison Ford and my Indy whip - that I used to take to band camp- yeah times were different). I thought I had to "grow-up" so I got rid of all my collections. It is my only one great regret in life. And yes, I am just fine with my daughter wanting a Luke instead of Han (although, Han would be a lot more fun....... but I'm not telling her that).

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hey, you gotta give Luke some credit. Once he gets over the whiny farmboy thing he's pretty cool, and while I'd rather have a Han I don't really think I'd mind a Luke. Preferably an Empire-era Luke, but still. And Han knows how to use a blaster... but Luke knows how to use a lightsaber.

    ReplyDelete
  25. That sounds like a very tragic loss of fun Star Wars things! Fortunately I never hit a point where I thought I needed to throw stuff out. It's not like I used it or even display it, but every once in a while I go through the box of old fun things that used to line the shelves in my bedroom and it makes me smile. Even the stupid Episode I toys from Taco Bell. I still have some awesome Star Wars and Indy posters I've had since high school hanging on the wall in my basement workout room.

Oh, I would not be happy with Luke. Sure, seems like a nice enough guy, just, well, he's not Han! And MT I can certainly relate. Even worse was a few times in high school and college I'd meet one of my good friends' boyfriends and later my friend would tell me that after he'd met me he was talking about how nice and funny or whatever I was. I didn't want those particular guys, fortunately, but I was like, where is the single one who thinks the same thing and I like, too? Also spent plenty of time as the third wheel. nothing like crawling into the back seat of the car after your friend's boyfriend goes out of his way to open the passenger door for the friend.

Sorry, this is not encouraging for you, I know. Still waiting for my turn! I can at least say that in the meantime I have certainly done some pretty cool stuff that not many others have done. So I promise I'm not always hiding behind my computer screen writing about Han and Leia :) It is also nice not to have to compromise in any situation. Freedom can be nice, too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Speaking of, Zyra, how old are you?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Seams2Be - I am one of the site "oldies" for sure. I am old enough to remember going to see ROTJ when it was first released and collecting all the action figures in the 80s. I had virtually the whole set of the old Kenner figures, only had about 4 missing. I can also sympathise with you, as I too had a moment of utter madness and got rid of a lot of my stuff. What the hell was I thinking of? Thankfully I still have some of it ( and I am still adding to it) and I've vowed never to get rid of anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Between 30 and 34 :) Although at heart I'm still about 11.

Oh, and Claire, that's part of the reason we wanted to do the blog. To bring us all together so we aren't alone in our ridiculous obsession. Makes us feel a lot more normal, right?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I should've told my age in Star Wars terms. Young enough that I wasn't born yet when ANH came out, but old enough that I was when ESB was here. And even though I was really, really young, I do have a memory of going to see ROTJ in the theater.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Psh, the only one I remember seeing in theaters is Revenge.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sounds like we are around the same age, Zyra. Although I am a teeny bit older.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Okay, what are we defining as 'oldies' here? Yes, I guess I would be an oldie compared to a high schooler, but - ugh - I don't want to be an oldie!

    ReplyDelete
  33. You guys make me feel wicked young xD

    ReplyDelete
  34. Enjoy it while it lasts, MT. I was you once!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Claire I'm guessing by that 1976 in your user name I know when you were born ;)

And MT, yeah, it goes fast! When I turned 30 I was like, wait, no way am I this old! When anyone who doesn't know me at all is just making conversation and asks if I have any kids my first instinct is still to say I'm not old enough to have them, but that's definitely not the case anymore. Then again, sometimes I still get asked what school I go to, so apparently I'm ageless. And at least I can rent a car and drink (even though I don't really drink) Still not old enough to be president.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Haha I'm doing my best. Stressful, though. I don't want to go to college!

    ReplyDelete
  37. But I would vote for you for president! National Han/Leia Day!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well, if 1976 is the year that Claire was born (and I figured that, too), then I am definitely an 'oldie' because I was born before that! (not much...but before, still in the 70's though!)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Don't want to go to college? College ROCKS!!! Seriously, and I wasn't (and still aren't) even a party person. I know it sounds scary but the workload, at least for me, wasn't anywhere near as overwhelming as I expected. I guess if you're going to pre-med or law or something your experience may vary. But you're finally allowed to pick classes mostly only on what YOU are interested in and you are constantly surrounded by your friends and there are always fun things going on. Also, you have TONS of free time during the day. Seriously, I was shocked at that when I first went. Never in class for more than 4 hours total per day. Except a couple of times, but that was only to ensure having both Mondays AND Fridays off. Don't be nervous about college. It's awesome. And don't be nervous about picking the "right" school, either. Having it behind me, I can say that I probably would've been happy at about 85% of the schools in the country. Maybe more. It's great.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I still think I have you all beat. I was ten when ANH first came out in the theaters in 1977. My youngest is now ten. Yikes! I do have to say that Star Wars has spanned the generations and has brought our family closer together. We think we are the Solo family. I swear I never laughed so hard as the time we went to "The Golden Corral" restaurant and pretended it was the "Golden Corellian" I'm sure people thought we were crazy, but so be it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. What I think is amazing is that there are current teenagers who love Star Wars, and more importantly, Han and Leia. And here was me thinking it was all about Twilight these days. Just goes to prove the timeless appeal that SW has.

Yeah, it doesnt really take a genius to guess the year I was born does it, lol.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh, hello. I see you on the The Force Awakens page. iluvkoalas

      Delete
  42. Okay, well I officially declare that none of us are 'oldies'.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ew, gross, Twilight. And you're all younger than my parents, so no worries.

As for college - I'm either going to go for ROTC or for hockey, so I'll have less free time than you guys did and a much different experience :/ I don't really know what I want to do yet but I'd like to do one of those and at the same time neither. Yeah, idk. :(

    ReplyDelete
  44. Not true! I played two sports in college and I still had lots of free time. And my teammates were my best friends from school and the ones I still keep in touch with, so I would highly recommend playing in college if you are, in fact, passionate about your sport of course. Otherwise it would probably just be a hassle. Also, athletes got to pick our classes first so they wouldn't interfere with games and practices, so we always got whatever classes we wanted and great schedules. As in, no classes until 10:00 at night! And I did not regret my decision when I'd come home from an away game and run into someone in the hall at 4:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday and they told me they'd just woken up.

    ReplyDelete
  45. XD Yeah that waking up at 4 pm sounds like some of my friends now anyway. I'm gonna keep talking to the hockey coach at one of the schools and see if I can play there, 'cause that'd be awesome. I don't particularly want to do ROTC, as much as I want to (does that make sense) because of all the little small things like making my bed all the time xP

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah, I'm going to say I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I actually made my bed in college. Of course my mom would make it the day I moved in and that was probably pretty much it ;)

And it probably depends on the kind of college experience you want, too. I mean, I am not and was never a party person, so not going out Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and drinking up a storm wasn't a big deal to me and I didn't feel like I missed out. I'd say most of my friends were drinkers, but not the kind who needed it so bad that they were out partying all the time. We were mostly content to go to class, eat a lot, go to practice/games and staying up late was done in front of the TV either watching movies, stupid TV or playing video games.

Also, for away games the school pays for your food! I remember in high school on the way back from away games we had to pay for our own Burger King, but not the case in college.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You're really making me want to play college hockey even more now. Haha what sports did you play?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Basketball and softball. I wasn't any good at softball but the team went on some really fun spring break trips for tournaments :) Hockey might be more hardcore though, I have no idea. I wish I had played hockey growing up but girls playing hockey wasn't really a regular thing and I was really good at basketball, so wouldn't have been able to do another winter sport anyway. I was limited street hockey with the neighborhood kids, which was still pretty fun.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thanks for the page number. Sweet!

And hear, hear, Push on the oldies! I hardly feel old at times. I was 7 when ANH came out. But I still act like I'm 5. Try having kids and looking at this little person and thinking "who's bright idea was it to put me in charge?" =) I remember when TPM came out and I was so excited. Waited so many years for new SW movie and then we get Jar Jar. Ugh.

I had the same fit of madness and all my old stuff is gone. Perhaps we all got the same message you have to grow up at some point. Wouldn't do it now.

College was pretty awesome. Wasn't much of a drinker, but we went dancing a lot. It's a good time to learn more about yourself.

Aw, man, am I the only one that liked Twilight? And I mean the book not the movie. I don't go all ga-ga for it though. I save that for Han/Leia.

  50. Oh sweet, I play softball too. Catcher. And I'm not that great and probably won't play but that's pretty cool. And that stinks that you couldn't play hockey. It's a great sport :) And I've found pictures of two different hockey masks with Star Wars paint jobs!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Amara z, oh I totally know where you're coming from regarding anticipation for The Phantom Menace....never been so disappointed in my life. Just couldn't believe it.

Glad I kept all my SW books when I got rid of my toys, although I don't doubt a couple of the novels certainly belong in the bin!!

I started reading Twilight, but got bored halfway through book 2.

No of course we aren't really oldies, I certainly don't act my age a lot of the time. You're only as old as you feel, as they say !!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Er are those random words that google asks you to type actually REAL?

Ingellsu?? What the hell kinda word is that?

I did have "bosom" last week though!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Phantom Menace anticipation=the worst! I went to see it with my brother and my cousins and we were all SO excited about it and it took us a while to admit it sucked because we all WANTED to love it, but, just no. Like, I think it was days or maybe more before we were able to say out loud how disappointed we were.

As for feeling old, I asked my mom once if she finally felt like a grown-up when she had a kid because I felt like I should feel more grown up graduating college, but certainly didn't! She said no, it was more like having a new toy to play with. But having her first grandchild started to make her feel grown up.

Catcher? You're brave, so much more work than everyone else! I would love a Star Wars paint job hockey mask. Well, if I played hockey, anyway.

Amara, my older sister liked Twilight, at least the books. I don't know if she's seen the movies. And a good friend of mine who is also around 40 liked them but she told me one of the books, I can't remember if it was 2 or 3, was almost totally useless. I did read this thing about how Stephen King talked about how Harry Potter was about triumphing in the face of adversity and holding strong to your values and sticking by your friends and stuff like that (that is not a direct quote, but this next part is) Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend.

  54. You guys are making me feel really young! MT, it's really good to know i'm not the only teenager on here :)

Claire, I think google has a really dirty mind. I got something really weird a little while ago, but can't remember what it was.

Good to know I'm not the only anti - twilight person here... I tried to start reading them a while ago and got really bored about 5 pages into book 1.

Ooh, college is starting to sound really fun to me right now...

I'd definitely go for a Han over a Luke, too.

    ReplyDelete
  55. GoldDragon, was it you who reviewed my Money Over Medals story? I forget the username but I remember thinking it was something like yours.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have a Han than a Luke, no question. But I don't think I'd mind a Luke too much. Better than a whiny little Anakin (even if he is attractive).

  56. I liked the first Twilight book. The rest were pretty useless.

Still have my SW books. Didn't get rid of everything. Thank goodness.

It is cool to see younger people into SW. My kids seem to like it.

I kind of liked Luke after ANH. Yeah, I know. He was so sweet and cute and I was really young then. Empire kind of changed my mind. Damn, Han was hot in that movie.

TPM is coming out in 3d. Anybody going to go see? I may take the boy. He likes the pod racing. My daughter's declining to go for now. Can we get Empire in 3d? =)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I was a Luke fan after ANH. I was 6 years old! I don't really remember anything distinct about seeing ANH in the theatres, but I distinctly remember grilling my mom on the way home from seeing ESB about how Han could be left in Carbonite like that! I was devastated!

    ReplyDelete
  58. MT - that was me (golddragon8). I agree with you, I'd rather have Luke than Anakin! Anakin just has this creepy serial killer look... And he's even whinier than Luke was in ANH!

Haha, love the masks! Especially the Vader one.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I guess there are some good things about not being able to see SW when it first opened. I only had to wait a week for Han to get out of Carbonite, not 2 years or whatever it was.

No, definitely not going to see TPM. Although the pod racing could be cool in 3D :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. ROTJ was probably harder for me since I knew that was it until, and possibly if, he did the prequels. Unfortunately, I don't remember much after seeing Empire. It was my favorite book though.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I can't even begin to imagine the distress you people went through waiting 3 years to see if Han got out of the carbonite. I would just have gone crazy. I actually saw ROTJ before I saw ESB, yes I know, confusing or what, especially the Han in carbonite situation, and the fact he was suddenly kissing Leia, and wait, Vader is Luke's father, huh? Yeah, I guess I missed a lot!!

I won't be seeing any of the prequels in 3D, doesn't interest me. Revenge of the Sith is the best of the three, but even that won't tempt me, it's still not in the same league as the OT.

Yes, we will get ESB in 3D, eventually, I believe the mighty George is releasing one film per year over the next 6 years. So, ESB will be out in....2016!!!

But think of it this way....you know that close up shot of Han's ass when he's trying to fix the Falcon just before the asteroid field??? Just imagine THAT jumping out the screen at you in glorious 3D.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ooh, yay... only 4 years to wait. At least it's only 3 years until ANH. LOL about that shot of Han, Claire!

That must have been really confusing, not seeing ESB before ROTJ! I got so upset about Han being in carbonate after watching ESB that I started reading fan fiction before I watched ROTJ... so I was very very confused trying to read post ESB stuff. At least I could work out that Han made it out of carbonite...

    ReplyDelete
  63. Oh Han, you man. ;D

Yeah, I can't imagine having to wait years after ESB. I remember feeling devastated the first time I saw it, even though all I had to do was pop in the next movie. After they froze Han, all I kept thinking was 'omg, how are they going to get him back!' then the movie ended. I couldn't believe it.

I rarely go to the movies any more, but I'll probably end up going to see TPM for nostalgia's sake. I still remember the day I saw it in the theater. I'm sure the pod race will look awesome. I thought pod racers were the coolest thing ever when I was a kid. I hope 3D isn't dead by the time we get the good stuff though...

Oh yeah, and college does rock. :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Darn, I was just reading they might not do all 6. We'll have to see. ROTS was probably the best of the prequels. The book went into more depth about why he fell to the dark side which I found interesting. I hear ya about the prequels. But some SW is better than none I guess.

That would have been confusing seeing them out of order. And, OMG, sign me up for a double of that scene in 3d! Holy smokes!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Geez, you go out one Saturday night and miss all of the conversation. Let's see if I can catch up... Cool hockey masks. I don't really like the Yoda one though, I like the other, more subtle ones.

Episode I in 3D... I recently chatted with my brother about this. I can't figure out if I want to go or if it is a total waste of time and money. And yes, I did at least think that maybe the podracing scene would be kind of cool in 3D. Cool enough to sit through Jar Jar again? I don't know. Anyone else love how basically after all of the hate it was like the entire Empire was Jar Jar's fault?

I don't remember how long before ROTJ I had seen ESB but since I was so young, it couldn't have been that long. Or maybe even possible. We did for a while have a copy of ESB we taped off TV and would watch in the top-loader VCR. I do remember thinking it was really cool that Leia was underneath that mask, but I'm also pretty sure that at that age I didn't really care about the kissing.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Same boat again, Zyra, just like last night. Went out skating with my friends.

I really like the Grievious (however the hell you spell that) mask.

I think I'll go to see the movie just because, hey, it's Star Wars. But I'm not sure. And a friend or two of mine but be connable and I could get them to go with me.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I know I'm not the oldest one here (or the youngest, but that's cool) but it might make me sound like an "oldie" when I say... I just don't care about 3D at all. If I have to be sitting directly in front of the TV, at the right angle, wearing glasses that make it impossible to see anything ELSE normally... not worth it. Although I'll agree with Zyra, the podracing scene wouldn't be bad. Neither would the Death Star trench in ANH. But... I don't know that the whole movie needs to be in 3D. *shrug*

The disappointment over TPM! Oh yes... our theater wouldn't let anyone line up before dawn (which I was actually grateful for, in some cities you HAD to camp out for a couple of days to get into that first show) so we circled the block for a few hours, then the driver slowed down and the rest of us basically jumped out of the moving car as soon as the line started to form. I WANTED to like it so much. I probably saw it in the theater 10 times or so, TRYING to let it grow on me. It took awhile before I was able to admit even to myself that I really didn't like it.

I'd love to see the OT in the theater again, but I'm not sure whether or not that desire will be outweighed by my desire NOT to see any of the new changes. I don't think I've watched anything but the pre-SE laserdiscs for the past 10 years or so, even though I own the first DVD release I've only seen ROTJ once (I was morbidly curious)...doing a pretty good job of pretending that the changes don't exist and I'm not sure I want to ruin that. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Han is going to be annoyed when he sees we got so off track talking about ourselves on his post!

I like the Grievous mask, too, actually, even though I don't like those movies.

The worst part is, this whole 3D thing has been incredibly annoying to me. Avatar was an event, that is a different thing. But releasing these random movies in 3D when there really isn't any reason to is just stupid. It adds virtually nothing and simply makes the tickets way more expensive. That's why all of these "box office records" are driving me crazy, how does it count if the tickets cost twice as much? And I usually only have to pay for myself, but why should it cost a family of four like $65 to see a movie and have some popcorn? And they wonder why attendance is way down (plus, most of the movies suck) Also, why release all of these things in 3D and then only like 5 people who actually bought 3D TV's and the stupid glasses for home can see them again that way? And yet for some stupid reason I still feel sort of like I should go see TPM, I have no idea why. It's a compulsion. My eyes work fine, so I can see 3D.

We bought our TPM tickets a week in advance of course for the first show. Not being in a major city, the theater was maybe half full (plus, it was like 10:00 in the morning, they open early for a big movie) Even worse? We had already also purchased tickets to the last show of the day. Again, maybe 2/3 full and nobody would admit how not excited they were to come back.

You are hard core avoiding the changes. The best thing is that ESB was mostly left alone, because of course the movie was perfect before. I swear the "changes" they put in that one were just because they felt like they needed to fill some quota of changes to make it "special." Anybody really feel cheated before that when Leia, Lando and Chewie were running around Cloud City you couldn't see outside? I didn't think so. Plus the subtle, but totally unnecessary addition of Han saying "Come on" to Leia after he pulls her off the ground and she sort of grunts. Yeah, that's right, those weren't there before.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Haha, I was just about to comment and mention how off subject these comments have gotten!

The changes are so unnecessary. I read somewhere that Star Wars was only about a fifth what George had wanted them to be. I would have thought that meant more scenes not making the FRIGGING EWOKS BLINK. Sorry, that just really annoys me.

Some movies are great in 3D (like Avatar). But I hate how everything is now in 3D... and it's not even good 3D, if that makes sense.

Just realized it's 2:18 am here. I should probably get off the computer :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Tell Han we're looking forward to seeing his butt and the kiss on the Falcon in 3D. Oh, and that we thought he and Leia were distracted. Maybe he's still playing with her boobies.

I mostly want to let the kids see the movies on the big screen. Could care less about the 3D otherwise.

I did not notice those particular changes in Empire. I will have to go back and check it out. I have several versions including a copy on VHS we should be untouched. I personally like the DVDs from the 90's with the remastered and original movies. Did anyone else notice they left a line out on Empire BluRay? The "you could use a good kiss" is missing. That sucked. May never be able to watch the BluRay again.

    I assume pre-SE is prequels?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yeah, I don't think Han minded that we got off topic. I believe he has used the "distractions" to his full advantage. Did he mention anything about Leia's hair? Loved the picture in the blog post, her hair is a bit wild and sexy.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I really do hate watching movies in 3D, but I do like the fact that it's an excuse to put older movies back in the theater for a whole different generation. It is sad that there's a need to slap a lame gimmick on them just to get people to go (of course in SW's case, I'm sure people would flock to see them in any form. But you know George and new toys...).

    ReplyDelete
  73. I did not know that "you could use a good kiss" was missing on the Blu-Ray! Are you kidding me? To confess, I've only watched the behind-the-scenes and never the full movie. Wow! That is like sacrilege! I won't believe it. It can't be true. Why would they do that?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Nope, Push. Not kidding. I was floored. I had to rewind it to check. It's a voice over to cutoff the scene at that point and I guess they forgot it. I noticed that in one the versions of ANH. They included or forgot a voice over of Threepio explaining the tractor beam to Luke and Obi-wan. Empire is not the same without that line.

Ooo...the hair! Loved the hair. Am I the only one that wanted that hair? I don't really look all that good in braids though.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I do hope they didn't cut the line on purpose. I actually thought about emailing them about it. Such a dork, I know, but can't stand it without it.

    ReplyDelete
  76. What blu ray do you have? Upon reading this, I immediately popped in my copy and it is definitely there. It seems like they moved it a tiny bit so he says it sooner after he walks off screen, but it is definitely there. Phew, you guys had me worried!

I... I mean, uh, Han said that he was going to mention something about her hair, especially what led to it being sort of disheveled up there in that pic, but he was running out of time. He's sorry. He does love her hair.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Now that's interesting. I have the 6 disc set. Perhaps it's a bad copy?

    ReplyDelete
  78. I've got the 6 disc set too, and he DEFINITELY says it on mine. But it's strange, cos before I bought the blurays I read somewhere else that that line had been cut, so I am pretty confused now. Doesn't make sense.

Anyone else with the blurays wanna check theirs??

    ReplyDelete
  79. Wow. I rechecked mine and it's definitely not there. But oddly enough the line was in the subtitles. Weird....

    ReplyDelete
  80. Wow, that is really weird that it isn't there. But this got me all interested so I searched around a little and I found a blog of someone who said that their DVD didn't have that line, and that particular post was in 2007. And also, strangely, I sort of feel like some version I own doesn't have it, but I don't know which one. Currently I do believe I have 4 options. Plus growing up on another, earlier, not-remastered or anything VHS copy that I don't have anymore.

Thank you all though for inspiring me to pop it in because I just got to see Han's ass in amazing clarity ;)

    ReplyDelete
  81. Nice....still want to see that in 3D.=)

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'll be checking mine today (when I get a minute). Mine better have it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Sorry, meant to say I've got the 9 disc set, not 6 discs, but it is 6 films, hence the confusion. Just double checked mine, to see if maybe the line was somehow distorted or quieter than other dialogue, but no, it's totally intact and audible.

I've got the DVD set and 3 different VHS versions, and don't recall any of them not having that line. I would have noticed, I could probably recite the whole film off by heart, especially all the H/L bits, so if it had been cut in any version I would have remembered it.

So, some people are missing this line and others aren't ?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Mine has it. Loud and clear. Whew.

    ReplyDelete
  85. It sounds like it, claire. I may be sending email after all. Or tracking down another copy.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Checked the wookieepedia page on various changes to the films over the years, no mention of this dialogue been cut, and no one in the "talk" section mentions it either. Also read quite a bit of the bluray thread at the force.net, can't see mention of it there.

So clearly this must only affect a minority or more people would be making a song and dance over it.

So my theory is, there must be some "faulty" discs out there.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Is it possible there's something wrong with your speakers? I remember once I was watching the dvd version on my laptop that has buggy speakers and when I didn't hear the line, I flipped out and rewound it. At least on the dvd, the sound mix has the line come out of only one speaker, so if that particular one isn't working, you don't hear it at all.

Or you got ripped off. :P

    ReplyDelete
  88. We only have the one bluray player. Could try it on the other tv.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Elivagar, good point. With all this surround sound and stuff if you have a GOOD set-up and a ship flies "overhead" on screen it will literally sound like it is flying overhead the way it passes through the speaker system. Since this line is offscreen maybe it's only coming from one speaker and maybe that one speaker isn't working properly? It just seems really odd that it would be randomly missing.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Oh yeah, that's a great point. Could be your speakers. Didn't think of that. But surely there would be other noticeable sound probs too, wouldn't there? Worth checking though.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I would think there would be other problems, yeah. Man, I hope it isn't the speakers.it's the big screen tv!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I am not at all surprised to find that we've commented way more on this post than probably any of the others on this blog, but I am surprised that we managed that without actually talking about the intended topic the whole time.

    ReplyDelete
  93. OMG. I spent the weekend watching game after game of 6th grade volleyball and good gracious, what I missed here!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Well, I know it's not the disc now, it's either the cable, tv, or player. Got to love troubleshooting. But, whew, at least it's still there. You don't know how weird it was not to hear it. Definitely one of the best lines of the movie.

    ReplyDelete
  95. You know, I've always wondered why there weren't more people stopping and giving them weird looks during that argument. I mean, someone must have noticed Han yelling 'you could use a good kiss' over his shoulder.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I take it it worked fine on your other tv then amara?

Yep. Without a doubt one of the best lines in ESB.

    ReplyDelete
  97. It did. Thanks.

That's a good point, golddragon. Could you imagine if they were out in the hangar in front of a lot of people? H/L fighting is almost as good as them kissing.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Great, glad it isn't some mysterious disc thing. Sometimes it just has to do with the player or a receiver and how the tracks work. We had this video we had made for my parents' anniversary a long time ago, because it was VHS, and the sound wouldn't play on our "good" VCR with the speaker set-up because of something to do with the tracks. I don't really know. I bet there are other things missing you don't even realize but they aren't nearly as distinctive as that line! Probably some background noises and possibly some other, lesser-known lines.

I bet nobody stopped to notice because they were already used to all of that fighting from them :)

JZ, an entire weekend of 6th grade volleyball? Wow, mother of the year right there because that sounds painful!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Yeah, this is definitely odd. We're not really good with the tv settings, so that could be it. Knowing me, I'll be swapping out all the components one at a time to isolate it. Can't tell I used to work on computer hardware, huh? =)

Lol, Zyra, on everyone being used to them fighting.

    ReplyDelete
  100. So pleased it wasn't the disc, but of course it will now bug the hell out of you til you find out why its happening. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

I agree Zyra, Han and Leia's bickering was probably a regular occurrence at that time, everybody was so used to it they just igorned it.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Of course we like to joke in fanfic that everyone was betting on them. So maybe they were paying a little bit of attention.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Mm, I agree with Zyra too. LOL about the bet, Amara. Anyone else think that Wes Janson and a couple of the others were standing just around the corner listening in?

Who came up with that bet, anyway? Was it Limelight? I think the NoT Quite Love Letters is the oldest story I've seen that talks about it.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I've seen it several times, but not sure where first. Got a feeling perhaps it's better to keep the Rogues busy. Who knows what trouble they'll get into.

Btw, we got it fixed. Issue with the player's firmware. Didn't even know there was such a thing. Yikes.

    ReplyDelete
  104. This is just a piece of one of my fics that goes with the current topic. My view on life at Echo Base in regards to Han and Leia...

"As they stalked past all sorts of rebels – guards, mechanics, members of High Command – a small part of Han's mind registered that most of them didn't even bother sparing more than a glance at the pair. The smuggler and the princess fought much too often for many to care anymore, and it had become just another piece of life at Echo Base, like the constant biting cold and the smell of the tauntauns. No longer were lunchtime conversations filled with the speculating gossip about what had gotten them going this time, and the long-running pool on when they'd finally kiss was almost forgotten."

    So yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Haha thanks Push :) Coming from you, even just those four words mean a lot!

    ReplyDelete
  106. You're welcome, MT. :-)

Does anyone else love the way Han looks in the background pic today? I could just stare at him for hours if I had the time. I don't know how Leia keeps that bit of distance between him and her. Maybe it's so she can control herself...

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think if you look close Leia may actually be sitting on her right hand, otherwise, well, there's no telling what it might reach out and grab...

    ReplyDelete
  108. I don't think she's quite on her hand... I think that maybe she can just feel the fabric of his pants the way her hand is positioned, because she needs contact but can't make it even remotely obvious. And yes, Push, he's rather attractive when he looks like himself. :P Haha but I know what you mean, this picture is great.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I have to agree with the subtle touch as well.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Do like that picture. I'm wondering how he's controlling himself. To sit that close to her and not even arm near her. He's definitely behaving...for now.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Oh, he's content to just sit there in all of his Han-ness and enjoy knowing that it's killing her not to jump his bones.

    ReplyDelete
  112. True, true. I would like to think it's killing him too. After all, he's been in carbonite for a while and there is that whole list of reasons above. =) But like you said, this is Han.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I love this background pic. one of my favorite scenes in the movie. he's sitting there like the cat that ate the canary. and she is trying so hard to be professional and discreet and deep down she wants to be sitting in that lap.

amara if I had managed to get through all the posts I might have suggested a firmware update. do you happen to have a Samsung blu-ray player?
we have been having no end of trouble with our brand spanking new one since the day we got it. we kept returning Cars2 because we were sure we had a bad disc but the sound kept going out and we knew it wasn't the surround sound because everything else sounded fine. finally we thought to take the blu ray to my sister in laws and try it there and it worked on their player. next thing you know my husband is on the phone with Samsung calling some dude in India bad names. :-) no luck. we're still watching everything on DVD because the surround sound works just fine on those.

And then last weekend the bloody thing up and went out on the internet on its own, downloaded itself a firmware update, and poof, suddenly all is well.

Guess I should be glad I don't have the blu ray set yet or I'd be irate at missing that line!!!

    ReplyDelete
  114. It's a Sony actually. Geez, in 40 years I've never seen a VCR or DVD player that needed an update. Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Wow, what a lot of comments!

amara z, by "pre-SE" I meant pre-special edition... i.e. the version that was available between whenever the OT first came out on video and 1997.

I don't know that I've ever had problems with the sound on any version of SW I've ever had (but, watching a laserdisc with regular old stereo sound on the built-in TV speakers, there's probably not TOO much room for error there)... how bizarre that so many people are having the same problem. Hopefully Lucasfilm knows about it, maybe they can remix the sound so it's not so much of a problem for the next release?

ESB was not changed very much...and the only changes that really bother me are all Luke-related things. Han and Leia's scenes were pretty much left alone...although I couldn't care less about windows on Bespin one way or the other. I really wasn't thinking about the scenery during that part anyway.

  116. Yeah I've seen the original and some more recent version(s) but I don't even know which - and I never noticed differences aside from video quality.

  117. Oh wow, this one got a lot of comments. :) That scene in ROTJ, I always like how Leia sits down and then scooches closer to him.

Tonight I am watching "Witness". Anyone seen this movie? Harrison Ford is all kinds of yummy deliciousness in this movie. I want to lick my TV screen.

  118. Virgo - I love Witness, was just trying to convince hubby that we should add to netflix queue.

Speaking of Harrison Ford movies, we were watching Fugitive on new years eve with friends over (it is his go-to movie for demo of why you need surround sound. And none of the ladies present were going to ever object to a movie that includes a flash of Harrison's butt). The kid came downstairs for popcorn and one little girl asked why the police were chasing Indiana Jones. My son pipes up, "that's not Indy, that's Han Solo!"
