And he's even smiling. After over two months of being virtually completely MIA after his plane crash, he has finally been spotted out and about, first driving earlier this week, and now in the photo above on his way to pilot his helicopter! I'd say he is looking pretty good. I'm quite relieved to see him walking around just fine and appearing to be his usual, fit self. So, whether the reports of his broken ankle and pelvis were true or not (widely reported, but never deemed "official) he seems to be getting around just fine now.
He does appear to be wearing hats all the time, though. Makes me wonder what his forehead is looking like after the incident that clearly involved some deep cuts up there. But at least the rest of his face still looks good.
So nice to see him appearing back to normal. Now I can stop worrying about him succumbing to his old age because of this accident. He looks just fine.
Lookin' good!
ReplyDeleteHarrison looks really good considering what he's had to deal with....Its great seeing him up and about!
ReplyDeleteAccording to the L.A. media, which is not always incredibly reliable, he had a five -inch gouge on the top of his head. Maybe he's waiting for the hair to grow back. Looks pretty good and he's on his feet pretty fast!
ReplyDeleteHe quite clearly had bad cuts on his head, there were photos of him on the stretcher with a lot of blood coming down his face. There were some photos of him in the car, unclear, but he didn't have the hat on and it looked like his hair was cut very short. So hopefully it is just waiting for it to grow back and he doesn't have anything nasty going on up there.
ReplyDeleteApparently he is walking with a bit of a limp, but he was limping around pretty good last year when he broke his leg and not too long after was walking around just fine, so I think it looks like he's going to be all right.
Kinda OT, but here is a recent example of Carrie signing Mrs Solo

Oh please, let it be true!
DeleteI was just going to post that. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCarrie's Twitter reply to this talk about signing things as Mrs. Han Solo:
ReplyDelete9 hours ago Los Angeles, CA
"I never actually read the script so I dont no what happens. I could end up with Jabba 4 all 👀no-Unless He was just a giant penis w/ features"
That woman is just hilarious.
Other tweets about it:
"I've been writing mrs h solo for YEARS, so is that a spoiler or ESP? You be the judge...."
"After getting endless shit about revealing secrets about new SW, Y would I then just go 4th & reveal secrets multiple times?I must b a moron"
"Can u imagine some force fed space friendly wedding in the sky?& do you, nerf herder, take this scruffy looking half wit to B thy r2fest"
Yeah, Carrie is hilarious. IMO, she is covering her butt. If the script honestly had H/L not married, I think Carrie would have stopped signing Mrs. Solo.
ReplyDeletePersonally I have no doubt H/L got married. I am confident they have at least one kid, probably two, in the new cast. My only concern is that they might be estranged at the start of TFA. But even if that's so, I have no doubt H/L will reconcile (with maybe a little implied nookie) before the end.
Can we discuss the whole Sana thing here?
P.S.
ReplyDeleteThe Sana thing is a comic book spoiler, but it is canon and does affect our boy. Specifically, his past.
P.P.S.
ReplyDeleteLink about Sana, for anyone who is curious:
http://comicbook.com/2015/06/03/star-wars-6-spoilers-whos-that-lady-canon-for-han-solo/
The comic is set between ANH and ESB.
Oh, hell no. I hadn't heard about this before. If this is true, I'm going to be pissed. I'll let a few others chime in about whether or not they want to discuss or not openly.
DeleteFor those of you who are spoiler-shy: I read the link, it appears to have nothing to do with Episode 7 spoilers, but rather the comics. I don't know that anyone here will be mad if there are spoilers for comic books but I'd like anyone to speak up if they would rather not hear anything.
Also, seriously, WTF? I had my complaints about the original EU, but are they now going to take the few things I actually liked about it and totally ruin it by changing it all, for no real reason, and strictly doing things that are going to irritate me? Ugh.
DeleteFWIW, the whole Sana thing happened before Han ever met Leia, and by necessity the story is going to resolve before ESB. In my opinion (and sure I could be wrong) this storyline will have no effect on Ep 7. I think the purpose is to give Han a big story in the comics -- to keep fan interest in him high since he is a main character in Ep 7 -- and to introduce more characters of color in the SW universe. That's just my take on it.
DeleteWhile of course it had to be resolved before ESB, it doesn't really erase how irritated I am by this entire idea and how much I don't like it. There is at least one string of good fanfic out there I know of that uses this element and I didn't like it there, either. Just... WHY? (I'm going to try and hope that it is a misunderstanding or not quite what we think it is, but I think I'm just going to assume from now on that every change they make to the existing EU, and everything that they are going to do with Episode 7, is just going to piss me off)
DeleteYou know what? This really isn't an Episode 7 spoiler, so I'm just going to make the call, go ahead and discuss it.
DeleteI am going to have an aneurysm. I was really enjoying the comics so far, too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm weird, but this honestly doesn't bother me. I've always thought Han had romantic relationships before he met Leia. He was too much of a stud not to. The only difference here is that technically Han married this woman. But I doubt very much this marriage was any grand romance.
ReplyDeleteI think the marriage came about one of three ways. 1. A youthful indiscretion when Han was very young. 2. The GFFA equivalent of a drunken Vegas wedding. 3. An arranged marriage purely for legal reasons (the GFFA equivalent of an illegal alien marrying a US citizen to stay in the country). Soon after, the relationship goes bad and they split, without ever technically getting divorced.
In any event, it is clear from the comic that NOW Han and this woman are on very bad terms. Sana will be out of the picture before ESB, one way or the other. And NOTHING changes the fact that Leia is the one great love of Han's life, the woman who changed him, and the mother of his children.
Ironically, I think part of the reason this story is happening is that TPTB want to drum up more fan interest in H/L leading up to Ep 7. What is one surefire way to increase fan interest in a couple? Bring in a romantic rival. But she's not going to be any kind of real threat in the end. Just an excuse to have a few scenes of Leia feeling a little jealous and possessive.
I also think this has a lot to do with Disney/LFL wanting to bring more non-white characters into the SW canon. I think Disney/LFL is really trying to expand the SW fanbase to include more women and nonwhites, and giving Han Solo a black ex-wife is just one small part of that overall strategy. I really don't think this story will have any impact on Ep 7.
JMO.
Would you mind reposting this comment to the new post I put up specifically about this?
DeleteI am also ridiculously happy to see he's out and about and smiling. was getting worried too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was a lengthy, scary stretch there, wasn't it? But it turned out to be just like the broken leg. One day, we're worried he will never walk again, then finally we see him limping around and seeming better, and then a few weeks later he looks like nothing ever happened. There have been some more photos of him being out and about, and even finally some pictures of him without a hat on where you can see the scar on his forehead from what looks like it was definitely a VERY bad cut. It'll be interesting to see how/if that fades more over time, but mostly it reminded me how lucky he is to be alive.
