Teaser Trailer to Premiere Friday November 28th!

The trailer is coming!  LINK  This Friday!  Sadly, of course it would be a real project for me to get to one of these theaters, so you people are all required to go see it for me if at all possible.  Hopefully it will be on the internet three minutes after it premieres so I don't have to wait too long.

I'm sure it will reveal nothing, which is actually a good thing, I think.  But if/when I do get to see it I'm sure throughout the duration I'm going to forget to breathe.  This means it's really real, it's really happening.  I'm guessing the music will be involved, and the goosebumps I'll have while hearing it are going to be difficult to get rid of.

How do you guys feel now that we are just over a year away from it?  What do you want to know about it?  What do you not want to know?  I'm torn.  Part of me wants to see a lot of stuff, but I think a bigger part of me wants to be surprised.  I will admit that as far as plot and such goes, I'd like to know beforehand whether or not Han and Leia are currently married/at least have been married, and if they have kids.  I want to be mentally prepared for the horrible possibility they aren't, or be relieved to find out there was nothing for me to worry about in that regard.  Beyond that, I think I'd like to mostly be surprised.  I don't want to know the whole movie going in.  I don't want to just be waiting for things to happen that I'd already heard about.  I think it will be more fun that way.

But anyway, check the theater list up top and hopefully some of you live in big enough cities that you can actually go check it out!  Go see Hunger Games or Interstellar or anything!  Just go see it!

  1. If I get even a glimpse of the Big 3 "in character" I'll be happy. Since I know they can't reveal much in a teaser trailer this far out, I don't think I'm asking too much. I'm tempted to hop down to NYC to see it, but going in on Black Friday doesn't really appeal to me. So I don't know, I guess I'm just gonna pray it leaks onto the Internet pretty quickly.

    1. I have a strong feeling that we won't see any glimpses of the big 3. I might be strangely ok with that. Except for the fact that they still never say a word about Leia in this movie. Not a rumor to be found about her. Very weird.

My guess is this will be on the internet about 3 minutes after it first premieres. They can try as hard as they want to keep it from leaking, but with millions of fanboys and fangirls and iPhones, I don't think this one will take long to get out.

  2. Well I could easily get to the one in pix... but I hate crowds like that.... debating whether it is worth facing my anti social tendencies.

  3. None in our state at all. Thanks, guys. :(

  4. I kind of want to know a lot about it, so I can avoid (or at least be prepared for) the kind of trauma I suffered during the prequels. Or, hopefully, so I can have reason to be excited & optimistic. And I really wish someone would say more about H&L of course!

    1. Welcome, genieprincess. I remember you on the old NHP, good to see you! I think we are all being cautiously optimistic after being so incredibly let down by the prequels. I don't think I'll have my hopes up so high. Sadly, one of my friends pointed out that the teaser trailer for TPM actually made it look awesome, so we certainly can't be judging based on what we see this weekend!

    2. Thanks Zyra. I'm still hanging around. :) As someone else said, on the one hand, just seeing the "Big 3" again together on-screen in their old roles is great. On the other hand, the potential for those characters and their universe to be trashed is really frightening!

  5. I've been concerned that pretty much the only rumours coming out about Han and Leia are that they're not together anymore. I just hope and pray we never get to the stage where we wish that Courtship of Princess Leia was still canon, because it's actually better than what Han and Leia get in the movie. I NEVER thought I would say that. *shudder*

I am trying to remain positive because I cannot believe that everyone would be saying how wonderful the story is and how it's being done "right" if they're treating Sci-fi's greatest couple so terribly.

  6. Oh and the trailer...I just have a feeling the Big 3 won't even be in it. I don't think it's going to show us anything much. It's way too early for that. And it's a bummer that no where in the UK is showing it, but it's sure to be online within a day or two, so not too worried about missing out.

  7. MEH. Over 25 miles from where I live are the most local. It's end of semester, and I'm jammed. So I'll wait and see if it turns up more locally over winter break.

  8. We're somewhat spoiled, being equidistant from NYC and Phila. But sadly I think we're just not going to make the trek with two five year olds on a holiday weekend. What kills me is that it's showing at my favorite theater in Boston...if only we still lived there!

On the other hand, going into something like without any (or much) spoilage is dangerous IMO. I'm afraid of being disappointed/traumatized!

  9. One thing that encourages me is that JJ Abrams had actual sets built, as opposed to doing everything on green screen. Not saying he isn't using green screen, but he did want the movie to have a more organic feel. Part of the problem with the prequels is that they look and feel cold to me, which put them in direct contrast to the OT, which had a very organic look and feel to them, were in many ways grubby and old looking instead of having everything pristine and beautiful. The OT concentrated on character development; the prequels seemed to be full of visuals but not much to chew on so far as the characters were concerned.

That is my very not at all humble opinion. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

  10. It's been leaked to YouTube already. Heard Han Solo's voice in it. Saw a glimpse of old Luke. Heard Daisy Ridley in it.

Here's a thought...what if Leia had been kidnapped, taken to another galaxy, and Han's been looking for her all these years? What if she had a child that was his that he never knew? You have to admit, it's got romance potential.

    Okay, I'll shut up now.

    1. If this is the trailer you mean, then I'm afraid it's a fake. It's very well made, but sorry, it's not real.

    2. You are correct. Oh, I hope the OT will be in the trailer! Whenever I get around to see it, that is.

  11. StarWars7News are claiming there are TWO teaser trailers, one of which will feature shots of the Big Three. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this is indeed the case.

  12. Good news everyone...SW.com have just announced that the trailer will be available online at iTunes from Friday morning :) So we all get to see it now. Yay!

  13. I've read one thing about Leia - something about a scene where she's meeting with and negotiating with Wookiees. And Mark Hamill has said that the Big Three are there to support the storyline and the new characters. It almost sounded like, yeah, they're in the movie, but mostly to hand it off to the new storyline and lend it credibility.
It would be devastating to find out that H & L didn't end up together. I don't see the point of that. First of all, their falling in love and their relationship was such a huge part of the original trilogy - if they didn't end up together, what was the point? It would feel like a kick in the gut and a terrible betrayal if they aren't together. Harrison Ford wanted Han to die in ROTJ, but George Lucas wouldn't let him because he had a storyline in mind (marketing, books, future films, etc...) Surely the film makers understand just how epic this romance is, how integral to the plot, and how we fans feel about it. I think J.J. Abrams and the film makers know this; they wouldn't want to upset or disappoint us fans.
Lastly, I can't imagine the trailer would reveal much in the way of anyone's relationship or plotline, so even if they did show the Big Three, it would probably be out of context. But still exciting to see.

  15. As I'm sitting at my computer this Thanksgiving morning, waiting for my turkey to roast, I had a few more thoughts about all these plot rumors.

I think we've all heard the one where Luke's hand (with light saber) is floating through space, falls onto a planet (Tatooine?), and is found by a couple of new characters who seek out Han Solo who says he hasn't seen Luke in 30 years. Okay, this doesn't make sense on so many levels - Luke's hand would have burned up in the atmosphere (and he lost it on Cloud City - it would have rotted in the vents or have fallen down to the planet or something.) Also, there is no reason for Luke to be in exile, unlike Obi-Wan, who had been both hiding and watching over Luke.

As for this new series not following the EU - I can totally understand that because those books span 20 plus years of adventures and intricate plotlines. Why would we want to see that if we've already been reading about it for the past 20 years? I hated all the kidnappings and wars with subspecies and the emperor coming back to life in another body. I especially hated killing off the kids and turning one of them evil to have his twin sister fight him to the death. So they chucked that, but it doesn't mean they chucked everything. There are some things that have to simply be in the new SW. Is it logical that Luke has recruited new Jedi? Of course. He's the new hope - he's the one that signals the return of the jedi. Who else is going to train them? Is it logical that Han and Leia are together? Yes - the whole original trilogy was about their relationship (ANH - you think a princess and a guy like me? - H I wonder if he cares about anything or anybody - L. TESB - all that arguing, smoldering looks, the kiss, the I love you/I know. ROTJ - L rescues him and he joins the rebellion.) Neither of them remained the same at the end of that trilogy - Leia's heart melted and she let herself get close to someone, and Han's heart melted and he became a part of something bigger than himself. To have it any other way would totally negate the original trilogy, because what would it have been leading up to? It would make sense for them to have kids because who are they handing the series off to? The prequels were about Anakin and Padme and their relationship and offspring, the original trilogy is about the offspring. Why would we care about a bunch of new characters if they are not related to the old ones?

Also, SW is notorious for throwing out rumors and red herrings on purpose. And if you mess with our beloved characters, nobody would want to see it or any of the sequels.

Okay, I'm done rambling. Gotta go get dressed now. Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. I maintain that anyone who knows anything real about 7 isn't talking.

    2. I agree. Nobody knows anything for real. So we have to wait (and speculate.) It gives me hope that any time I read something J.J. Abrams puts out, it's always positive and saying that they want to make the movie great and please the fans.

    1. That's Daisy Ridley, but I think the fact that you thought it was Leia is a good sign that she's her daughter ;) I'm hoping and praying that she is.

Yeah, I know, where is our main man? But check out his super bad ass moves in the Falcon. He's still got it ;)

    2. Yeah, this is a silly question, of course we want to read it! But also please keep writing Into the Future! A chapter every like, 7 months, especially when the plot doesn't seem to move forward, is torture!

  21. Hold on to your hats - it's moving forward in a BIG WAY this week. ;)

Zyra - I'll flip you the doc tonight for posting on here.

  22. So which of you are planning to make the pilgrimage to Anaheim, CA in April 2015 for Star Wars Adventures?

Zolo, asking if we want to see new fic is a little like asking us if we want to keep breathing? :)

  23. Just as a side note, I amused myself earlier by going back and reading through some old posts as each new bit of Episode 7 news came out. I was almost shocked to realize that the announcement came over 2 years ago that we would have a new movie. So, knowing that I've already survived 2 years of waiting, I feel better about still having to wait another year to see it. Although I am more excited knowing for sure that we will get to see Han and Leia again, possibly their kids, and we already got to see the Falcon fly!

    2. Just want to make a note regarding spoilers: What you've posted here is totally fine, don't mind at all and you warned us for spoilers. To the rest of you, just be mindful that some people don't want to know the entire plot or everything that is going to happen. So please don't discuss spoilers or post anything here without warnings. (again, the link above with the warning is more than totally fine, as I'm sure some people DO want links to that information!) I just want to make sure that nobody inadvertently reads something they'd rather not know before it all comes out.
