And Yet Another New Trailer....

Seriously, you guys. I don't know how much more of this I can handle. It is bad enough when you know these things are coming, but now it's like every other day something new is on the internet just when I thought we had finally seen the last of all of the new stuff we were going to see.

Every new piece of footage I see of Han makes me think he looks better and better. I absolutely cannot wait to see him in this movie for 2 hours. I really can't even believe that we get to. I also noticed some things in this one that I'm hoping were done intentionally that give some clues, but for now that is all I'll say.

How much longer again do we have to wait?

  1. I found the tv spot this morning a few minutes after it landed on the internet. I wasn't the first one to post it (aw, shucks), but I enjoyed it. I loved the shot of Han. My concern is that all we're seeing is angst in these trailers/spots. I want to see some happiness. It makes me concerned about this movie possibly being too serious or even depressing.

That being said, all of this marketing is just the beginning. There probably will be a few different tv spots (I hope that Leia is in one of them if that's the case. I hope that there's a kiss shown between Han and Leia. There has to be now. I won't say why I feel that way, but it's based on things that are rumored. Plus, if this movie if full of angst and such, I want to see some affection between them to provide a little moment of happiness between our couple). The angst angle is all mine. That's not rumored or anything. Okay, that's my personal rumor/speculation.

This is only the beginning of the marketing campaign. In a few weeks, we'll begin to see "The Force Awakens" on magazine covers-most likely Entertainment Weekly will cover it en masse-and in newspapers with the Big 3 and the Little 3. I'm coining the Little 3 phrase. I'm going to see if I can spread it around.

  2. Again, pure speculation, but I don't think you can have a movie with two straight hours of depressing angst.

I think Zyra touched on this somewhere, but i'm betting that since "the Force has been asleep" for some time, the beginning of the movie might (hopefully) has some light/happy scenes with our fav couple; possibly some celebration or something, etc. ?

seriously, you couldn't have two hours of complete angst...and by the way, my husband DID get opening night tickets, YAY!!!

  3. I agree with you JeanMarie, but it's just that they're not presenting any humor to us. I'd like to see some humor or happiness in a trailer/tv spot. I think that it's a good idea.

Speaking of a celebration, those pics of Han and Leia in all posters lead me to believe they're wearing dress clothes. So, I think that might actually happen. It's all speculation. I don't know.

  4. Okay, so is it me, or did that TV trailer all but spell out "Look, it's Han's daughter!" If she's NOT related to them at this point, then it's just cruel.

    1. Yep, exactly. That's what I meant when I said I hoped they had done some of those things intentionally. I mean, it was sooooo clearly put in there, her looking one way, him looking the other (as though at each other through edits, even though it was clear that the shots don't go together in the movie) perfectly synced with the dialog. You're so right, a this point it is just cruel. Honestly, from the moment I saw her picture when she was cast I thought that is Han and Leia's daughter. There is just no other acceptable explanation. You can't keep doing trailers like this and then pull the rug out from under us and just be like, "Kidding! She's Mon Mothma's daughter!"

I am like, wait, this is just "TV spot #1" so then how many TV spots will there be? What else will they reveal in them? How much more new footage? I just want to see the movie! But I also want to see some Leia.

  5. I also need to add, I do agree with you guys that so far all of the footage makes this movie look basically entirely humorless. I really doubt that will be the case, but still. Very dark, everyone very serious all the time. Last week I watched ANH with my family, and it'd been a long time since I really sat down and watched it with other people, and it was a lot of fun because there was a lot of laughter, most notably from a lot of Threepio and Han commentary. I want this movie to be at least a little bit fun and not just ominous. Right now it mostly just seems ominous.

  6. Forgive me, but I think it was this board where someone said they knew of a spoiler about a Han/Leia kiss. I know people here don't want to hear spoilers, but if it's such a great spoiler as a kiss - couldn't we discuss that? What is the context of the kiss, is this a rumor? Just had to ask.

    1. I don't remember, did someone say specifically that there was a kiss spoiler? A long time ago I read that Han and Leia shared "an intimate moment" which could easily be that brief little bit of them that we have already seen, but I don't remember if there was mention of a kiss, specifically. I would accept discussion of a kiss if someone knows something there.

  7. I don't think anyone actually mentioned an actual kiss, but as I keep reading interviews/spoilers, it just seems like it actually might happen. I'm not trying to spread rumors or anything, really. It's just a gut feeling only. I loved that hug, that I hope that "an intimate moment" means a kiss.
