Happy Second Anniversary, Blog!

We are actually a few days late because the first post was actually on March tenth, but close enough, right?  Yes, the blog is two years old.  Our readership has blossomed tremendously, even if we aren't getting as many comments as we used to.  To be fair, when we started, we hardly got any.  Some of the original joint story chapters got zero comments so I'm surprised we even kept going there.  And I know we've not been as active either although recently we've picked things up so we appreciate you sticking with us.

We hope you are still enjoying reading.  The purpose was to bring together this tight little community and get people talking and writing.  To help writers, which we haven't really done recently but hopefully we can get back to that, but also to showcase work and also to occasionally debate silly topics regarding our favorite fictional movie couple.  Or at least my favorite, but they should be yours, too :)

It's been a lot of fun although also a lot of work at times.  We've fallen dreadfully behind on the book reviews, but those things are time consuming to write and we want to make sure each one gets its due so that in the future we don't have to read the books again, either!  We'll try to continue to keep the content fresh though and keep you all coming back.

We've hopefully also made it easier for you to comment.  If you missed it, I had to put back word verification in order to prevent spam because after a few over a couple of days, there were suddenly 15 new ones over the course of about 10 minutes so it was time to increase security a bit.  Hopefully this has not set you all back again and prevented you from commenting.

Anyway, it's been a fun couple of years and hopefully there will be more fun to come.  We enjoy contributions and ideas so feel free on either or both of those.  And hopefully you're still enjoying coming here.  A few of you have only joined us recently, a few were here from the beginning, and a few have disappeared but hopefully nobody is gone forever.

Happy anniversary!

  2. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BLOG!!

Thanks ladies for keeping the Han and Leia fandom very much alive and giving us a place to come together and chat about our fav couple, and introduce us to some great H/L fiction. And it's so good to see so many different people writing!

Keep doing what you're doing, and here's to many more anniversaries to come. :)

  3. Happy Anniversary!! That is wonderful. And I total agree. Thank you for giving us a place to come and hang out virtually and bringing us all together. And I like that we can encourage each other with our writing and debate about our fav couple.

  6. Happy Anniversary. Thanks for being around long enough for me to find you and for feeding my guilty pleasure. I'm new to the fandom (less than 1 year), but reading this all has inspired me to try my hand at it. And I love the pictures that you post as well. Keep up the good work.

  7. I've only recently found this blog and have been hard pressed to find the time to comment, but I feel that those who run the blog have put a lot of love into posting and it just makes me feel welcome, even if I'm not making myself known. Happy Anniversary to all, and a giant virtual bear hug for keeping up such a friendly environment.

    (:

  12. Happy Anniversary!

I've been following for almost a year so I don't feel too behind. I've been loving the joint fic and the EU reviews. The discussion/recs of fics have led me to many hours of good reading.

I've never had anyone else express love for Han/Leia so this place feels like a real treat, makes me feel like I'm not alone.

  14. Happy Anniversary!
I've been lurking for about a year now since the beginning of the 2nd joint story and I've probably read everything on here once, if not twice.
    This place is the best

  15. Thanks for all of the comments, everyone. Especially from the lurkers. It's always great to get new people commenting. Frankly, if new people didn't comment, nobody would be commenting because it seems like most of those who were with us in the beginning have disappeared. Keep on reading and commenting!

  16. I'm really glad I found this place. It's a happy place; it's nice to imagine that while our favorite couple could live happily ever after all the time, it's a welcome relief from the EU, where it seems all that their lives are made of is pain and suffering. I kind of see them as normal people in extraordinary circumstance, and despite the difficulties of balancing work and family, they manage to enjoy each other, take pride in their kids, and carve out a great life for themselves.

  17. Okay, that was a bit botched. Having 458 students is starting to feel like sensory overload.

  21. Wow! I was on Spring Break last week and missed all this de-lurking. Nice to see everyone checking in for the Anniversary.

On a different note, can I say that I'm on pins and needles on how this current poll will go? It's a tight race on throwing out the EU or just loosely following it. I'm a little surprised, I don't know why. I guess I thought most would just want to see the books set into life even if they didn't necessarily like them.

  22. I suspect there will be elements of some of the novels in the flick. It would seem that passing the torch to the next generation would be part of it.
