Missing Moment by LadyxB

This is a 'Missing Moment' contribution from LadyXB.  It addresses the infamous 'fade to black' scene in the book 'Tatooine Ghost' as quoted below:

Leia went into the room and found Han lying flat on his back. His hands were folded behind his head and he was smiling at her crookedly. And he seemed to know where he was.

"Come here," he said. "And take this drip out of my arm."

Leia went over to the side of the bed. "You're sure?"

Han grabbed her around the waist, then pulled her down on top of him and kissed her, very long and very deep.

"Yeah, I'm sure." He ran his hands under her robe, and the room suddenly grew warm. "It's gonna get in the way."

Despite her brain warning her otherwise, Leia was in no mood to put up much of an argument. She had spent much of the past few days worrying about him and now she ached for his touch. Han could have asked her to do anything at that very moment and she knew that she was incapable of refusing him.

Hissing as his hands journeyed upwards as he gently cupped her below her breasts, Leia's body acted seemingly against her mind. About to succumb to his advances, she suddenly stopped and sat up.

Glancing down on him, she saw his eyes alight with golden desire and not much else. Leia stared at him intently, searching him to see if he was in fact up for it, when she felt the extent of his arousal below her. He smirked, but her eyes remained serious. Looking at him now, she realized just how close she had come to losing him.

With a sorrowful pang, she remembered how this wasn't the first time he had almost been taken from her.

All the times with the Rebellion, while the war raged, they had both been nearly reckless, risking their lives for the good of the people and for one another. They had had nothing to lose and everything to fight for.

When he had been imprisoned in carbonite---she never knew how much she could love until he was ripped away from her.

Most recently, and in a completely different way, when she had almost destroyed her heart and the best thing that had ever happened to her, for what she thought would have been beneficial to the Alliance. She had only woken up and realized what she was about to lose when he had walked away from her in his valiant, but fortunately failed attempt to sacrifice his life again.

For her. For her cause.

And even though the Prince whom Han would not, perhaps could not name, was a distant memory, here Han was still sacrificing and fighting her battles.

In this world, and with these two people, that may never change, but it made Leia recognize the importance of truly living in the moment.

"Sweetheart?"

Leia shook herself from her thoughts as Han looked at her with a hint of confusion and concern. Smiling to reassure him, and herself, she reached over and carefully undid the drip and placed it on the table beside the bed.

Now that his arms were free, Han continued his exploration of her body. Leia's head fell back with a sigh of contentment before leaning down to kiss him.

At first, she pressed her lips softly to his. But the desperation of the past few days, of their entire past together, took hold of her body and she kissed him with fervor. With parted lips a joining of tongues, her entire body tingled.

Forgetting where and who they were, she sunk into him and allowed her body to do the thinking.

Her lips were on fire, feeling his demanding, hot mouth on hers. His tongue lining hers, her mouth, lips, neck. Groaning when she kissed him right below his earlobe, she felt Han's hips arch towards her.

Leia tore at his dirtied, hard-worn shirt and threw it behind her. Gently, her hands trailed down his chest, relishing in the feel of the hair and muscles there. His hands slid down to cup her bottom and with a swift, graceful movement he was on top of her.

His mouth found hers again in a deep kiss. Leia's hands grabbed a fistful of his hair, pulling him down closer. She moaned as his mouth traveled downwards, exploring the skin around her breasts, then her stomach.

Tantalizing and teasing, he kissed, sucked, and nibbled as she murmured his name.

Daring to open her eyes, she found him staring at her, with a predatory smile on his face that was irresistible. She could wait no longer and spread her legs open slightly, invitingly, hoping that he would get the message.

The desperation of the timing and the moment was too severe to take things slow. They could be interrupted at any moment, and with past precedent, Leia wasted no more time in grabbing his arm and pulling him back up towards her.

Their lips joined again. Wrapping her arms around his neck, the overwhelming sensation of being so close to him crashed over her when Han entered her. She gasped as he moaned into her mouth and increased his pace.

Leia was on the edge of ecstasy. Sweating bodies writhed against one another all troubling thoughts were swept away.

When her body tensed, Han pressed into her harder. She felt the waves of her orgasm crash over her, and she thrust her hips upwards, furiously, to bring him with her.

Spent, Han pulled out of her but remained holding her close. Laying his head on her shoulder and kissing her neck, he whispered how much he loved her. A satisfied smile mixed with relief and joy crept over her face, causing her to wrap her arms around him tighter.

He rolled them over once more so she was now resting on his chest. They stayed locked within one another's arms, and after just a few minutes, Han's breathing settled and he started to snore softly.

Leia also felt the pull of sleep, but her practical side had reawakened, so she gently extracted herself from Han and reached over to grab the drip from the side table. She brushed a still sweaty piece of hair out of his eyes, and rubbed the spot on his arm that she was about to pierce with the drip. Once it was in and Han remained sleeping soundly, Leia watched him for a moment before laying back down, curling into him.

She listened intently for any signs of disruption coming from around the hotel or her datapad, but all she was met with was the silence and Han's steady breathing, which quickly put her to sleep.

Thanks so much for sharing, LadyXB!!  Great Job!

  1. Woo! Another challenge response! I especially loved that part where she's thinking about how that wasn't the first time he had almost been taken from her. And "Prince whom Han would not, perhaps could not name" made me laugh.

Extremely well done! Perfect timing, haha, I had just woken up from a very interesting dream where someone walked into my bedroom and shot me, so I needed something like this.

"In this world, and with these two people, that may never change, but it made Leia recognize the importance of truly living in the moment." - Damn right, Leia!

  2. What a beautiful, passionate story! First Leia’s tormented thoughts and reflections, then “the desperation of the past few days, of their entire past together took hold of her body.” “Forgetting where and who they were, she sank into him and allowed her body to do the thinking.” I love this. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to stop “thinking” and just live in the moment (at least for me it is). You captured their souls so wonderfully. I absolutely love this story. I’m printing it out and keeping it with my TG book forever.

  4. Yay, another one! Very nice job here, LadyxB. I like when you started off and Leia is just looking at him and thinking all of those things, about how she'd almost lost him and messed everything up. I also liked that you let the actions speak for themselves here and they didn't express any of those thoughts of loss, just enjoyed the moment. I also liked the line about all troubling thoughts being swept away. Little additions like that really give it a lot more meaning, so it's not just a hot sex scene and shows us that they really need each other in so many ways.

    Great job!

  5. Wow, this good stuff.

For me this is the ultimate missing moment for Han and Leia in the EU, and you certainly did it justice. The thing that hits you about this is there is no dialogue, but it doesn't need it. Everything that needs to be said is conveyed so brilliantly in their actions, and through Leia's own thoughts. It works really well and you totally got into Leia's head. Loved it.

    On a less serious note...

You know, it never occurred to me that Han might be wearing a shirt in this scene. Every time I've read TG I always always picture Han bare chested (but maybe that's just my desire for that gorgeous chest)' yet you've got him still in his shirt, which is actually good, because then Leia gets to rip it off, quite literally.

  6. LOL, Claire!

By the way... I love the background pic!

  7. I love Leia's moment of pause and reflection in the beginning, too. It made the moment all that much more special and it was very believable.

    Thanks again for sharing.

GoldDragon: Yep, this is another great pic of them, huh? I love this part in the movie. :-)

  8. this is awesome!

I have to agree and comment on Claire's post. While reading pretty much everything involving Han (Cannon or FanFiction) I usually dont take into account he even has shirts, for me, he walks around bare-chested all the time... is that wrong??

oh, and totally loved the "Prince whom Han would not, perhaps could not name" part. classic.

  9. When I read that I honestly thought that it had specifically mentioned in the book that he didn't have a shirt on, but I went and checked and it didn't. The picture in my head automatically went to Han lying there without a shirt, blankets pulled up just below his chest. Yes, that is a nice mental image.

  10. Love it! That's all I can say. I want to go into more detail but I feel like everythings been said in the above comments. Couldn't have said it better myself!

  11. P.S Love the background pic. *sigh*

  12. Zolo77 - LOL, I love how you think.

Glad it wasn't just me who saw him without his shirt in this scene Zyra. I was sure the book specifically stated it too, but you're right, it doesn't.

Which one of you decides on the background pic? It must be a tough decision.

Aww, today's pic is such a tender moment between them. I love how she gently strokes his hair.

    1. I do the background pics. At first I just randomly chose them, now I've been trying to keep track of which ones I've used and which I haven't (although favs will repeat regardless). And sometimes I try to pick one that goes with the post. Like I thought this one went with LadyxB's story of Leia 'tending' to Han.

Didn't think that much thought went into it did ya? (Yes, I do have a life...) :-)

  13. I have to agree. Very nicely done.

I thought he was shirtless as well. Wishful thinking. :) I do like the fact that other than her tearing at his shirt, there's not much else about them disrobing. Proof it doesn't have to be blow by blow to be hot. I forget that sometimes.

  14. Thanks everyone for the nice comments! I'm glad you liked it.

  15. Wohoo, this is all I wanted!! If this is the only fic covering this moment, I don't mind at all because it was so good. I loved how she paused and thought about all the times she'd nearly lost him and how important it was to live in the moment. There was so little dialogue, yet it said so much. Beautiful story!!
