Your No-EU Book Review Sunday Blog Update

As mentioned before, your faithful bloggers have taken the next two Sundays off from the EU book club reviews to get through and absorb Apocalypse. Obviously I finished, I don't know if Push has or not, but either way, we are also taking next week off just to have a bit of a breather and each of us is about a book behind and we want to catch up! So hopefully we can entertain you otherwise in the meantime. I know you're all just dying to hear all about the weirdness that is The Crystal Star but you're just going to have to wait.

I'd like to give a shout out to some of our new people who just found us and have commented as such. Thanks for coming and I hope you enjoy yourselves! And please, comment away because we love it. No comments = less incentive to post anything. We can just talk to each other through e-mail, you know ;) That is not really a complaint right now though because you all have been commenting quite a bit lately so for that, we thank you.

What you have not been doing is submitting any missing moments pieces! Come on, people, you know you want to. You can do it here or post on ff.net as some people have done or even both, but that was part of the reason we wanted to do this, so get to work! Also, it lets us do a little less work, which we always like ;) But really it's because we like reading more stories!

Speaking of more stories, once again I'd like to point out that there have been a lot of new Han and Leia stories posted recently over on ff.net and it's always great to see that. It's also been so nice to bring all of us crazies together because it's always more fun to share an obsession with someone else, so thanks!

All right, that's about it. And has anyone else actually read all of Apocalypse aside from just the last chapter? Am I all alone here?

  1. Sorry, I've been busy writIng about issues with Leia's pants. :) Still have a couple of ideas in mind for missing moments.

    1. Well, as long as you're writing. And I should also probably mention that there are no deadlines for missing moments. If you've just found us and want to answer a challenge we posted 5 months ago, please do not hesitate! They're just there to give you all a prompt to get writing and hopefully inspire some things.

  2. I finished Apocolypse yesterday and am still pondering what it all means and where the EU is headed next.

I have a multi chapter Bakura missing moment story that I've been toying with for a while that I think I am going to publish before I screw it up.

  3. Jz, I would love to read a Bakura missing moments story! Looking forward to that, I'm sure you've done a great job with it! I believe both of us are firmly rooted in the "first time on Bakura" club, right?

It's great that a few new people have joined this week. I did notice the number of members creeping up.

I love that pic of Harrison and Carrie, not familiar with that one. How cute are they together?

    1. Look at that guy in the background of that pic, looks like he's giving them the evil eye. Wonder who he is, I think that's Gary Kurtz standing next to him.

    2. I'd just seen this pic for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I love that we never run out of new pics of them!

Now, JZ, you post your story!

  4. Crystal Star! Crystal Star!

I have a couple of things I've been writing. Slowly. From older challenges. But writing is writing, right? Although I feel like I haven't had much time to stop and do anything lately, so boo.

I love that picture! Especially the creep in the background. He wants Harrison bad.

  5. I will work on editing my Apocalypse story tonight (who needs to prepare lesson plans for next week!). It is two chapters, I don't know if that is to long to submit to you all. I have to wait for 24 hours before I can do anything on fanfiction.net. I set up an account today. By the way Amara z, first, I'm intrigued by the "issue with Leia's pants" and second, I thought of your stories today, the ones where Han gives Leia the pressed flower in lucite. I was at an art show today and their was a woman who made that kind of jewelry. I told her all about this story I read about the press flower jewelry. Of course I just said it as a "fantasy" story, I didn't go into the whole H/L thing. The lady thought it was so sweet. I bought a pendant of Queen Annes Lace, pressed and encased in lucite in honor of your stories.
jzhanfan, can't wait to read what you have for more Bakura moments.

    1. Seams, check out her story on ff.net, she posts under Ratherkissawookiee and you can see what's going on with Leia's pants :)

In other, random blog news, the latest thing that is getting people here is "3d sex goddess"

Do I want to know what that is? I'm guessing no.

    2. Probably not. But sounds like an interesting visual. Maybe hoping for new scenes in the OT? And now that's got me thinking of that dream you had about ROTJ. :)

    3. That was a good dream. Unfortunately I haven't had a similar one since. And in this case I'm pretty sure what they were searching for had absolutely nothing to do with Star Wars.

    4. very interested to ready your alternate ending to Apocolypse, Seams2Be!

  6. Aww, Seams. That is really sweet. I'm touched. And thanks for passing along what she said.

Zyra is correct. I'm ratherkissawookie on ff and it's under there, titled "The Princess and the Pants." Just a bit of my warped sense of humor and lots of encouragement from Zyra. :)

    1. Amara, I love your pants story. It's so quirky and well, different. Not to mention it conjures up absolutely hilarious visions. Very very funny.

    2. Of course, it should be noted that in my country, the word pants does NOT mean trousers. Soooo, whilst I know you mean trousers, the vision of Han in Leia's knickers is really something else entirely!! And makes it even funnier. :)

    3. Thanks, Claire! And oh goodness, I never thought of it that way! Lol. Now I have a vision of Han in Leia's "knickers."

    1. Thanks jz! Just read it over breakfast. :)

Love it, so far. I knew we wouldn't get to the naughty bits in chapter one! :(

Chewie is funny, and I'm dying to know what he said that would have caused Leia to blush.

    2. Lol, jz. Nagging comes natural when you have two kids and been married forever. :) Looking forward to reading your story tonight.

And thanks. Glad you like the pants story.

  8. Man, weekends have been tough for me - computer-time-wise - and I feel like I'm a year behind on commenting and stories to read! But that's a good thing. I guess I'll have to head over to ff.net tonight and check out what everyone's talking about. Glad to see everyone is writing!

  9. To you people commenting on people's stories here, go write them in reviews on ff.net! It doesn't take that much effort and for those of you who have never posted there, you have no idea how good it makes you feel to get a nice review on a story, even from someone who has already said the same thing elsewhere. Reviews beget more reviews and more readers!

    1. (hangs head in shame). Yes I am guilty of this. But I've done the decent thing and have now commented on the two stories mentioned here over at ff.net, and I promise to do more of that in the future.

Oh and today's pro fic quote is my absolute fav H/L exchange from TG. Maybe there's another missing moment there somewhere.....like when he checked her "circuits" later on....

    2. That's a good one, Claire. Like that idea.

    3. yes, reviews always make me smile.

BTW... is it just me or are the pop ups at ff getting really aggressive the last couple of days? like, no "skip this ad" button? I've resorted to reading on my nook again to avoid.

    4. I'm usually on my iPad. So I haven't noticed. But I haven't been getting alerts even though added ff email to contacts. Weird....

    5. I haven't noticed, but I'm normally on an iPad too, and I think they block a lot of pop ups.

    6. I feel like every few days there will be an ad that doesn't even let you click out of it, I usually even have to close the window. The weird thing is, for a long time I saw no ads at all, after having seen them for a while. Then when I had to wipe my hard drive I started seeing them again. I wonder if there is some secret to not seeing them at all.

  10. Glad it's not just me on the ads... and I noticed my alert emails aren't coming either, just in the last day or so bcs of posting smething new. Not only do I not get alerts of reviews (boo!) I didn't even get an alert that thestory posted.

    1. FF.net is hating at me right now. it wont send me any updates and wont let me comment.
in any case, i will, when it starts liking me again, but wanted to tell you that i loved your story you posted. very sweet. :)

    2. You did great Seams, I've just posted a review of your story at ff.net.

    3. I did to. Congrats on first post!

Btw, I updated pen name on ff.net to amara z so would be less confusing.

  12. So, yesterday I hit a new level of nerd-dom. I spent the entire day genuinely happy for a fictional character.

i found spoilers from Apocalypse. I couldn't help myself...

  13. I am glad I heard someone else say they were not getting e-mail updates from ff.net. I have gotten several e-mails today from story updates that happened yesterday. Guess the system is just running really slow. Hopefully it will catch up soon.

Ok you have all gotten me sucked in and I found my copy of The Crystal Star to start reading. I will try to keep up.

Also now have some story ideas I need to get myself feeling confident about trying. This will be interesting never tried writing like this before.

Also love that picture. They are so cute.
